CODE OF CONDUCT

Phoenix Cribbage considers itself a PG-13 league. Although the majority of our members are of legal age, Cases does allow people as young as 13 to join. We like to think of Phoenix as a relaxed friendly league. People come to Phoenix to play cribbage, meet people and have fun. However, please respect others rights to come and play here without any hassles or having to worry about being offended in any way. Flirting is fine, hugging, kissing, being friendly in the lobby are all very acceptable behaviours. Out right swearing or open sex talk is not acceptable. Providing you do not cross the line Innuendos are acceptable. MOST of us are adults, but not all. Also all people have a different sense of what is morally acceptable and what is not. Please use common sense. Harassing or attacking players verbally in never acceptable. There is no reason why people should be made to feel uncomfortable at anytime. However Phoenix staff will not get involved with personal disputes not related to the league or the game. If the problem does spill over into the lobby or disrupts tourneys in any way then action may be taken. Remember, you can always use ignore if you consider someone to be bothering you. The TD is in charge of the lobby and the tourney. Theyncan decide what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. We ask that you respect their decisions. When they are asking someone to refrain from certain comments or behaviour, it is usually because they are dealing with a complaint from another member. Under any circumstances you may not be rude to the TD or to a player. Respect and sportsmanship are of the utmost importance. In a tournament the TDs decisions are final. When people are being disruptive in the lobby please ignore them. These are people looking for attention. If we talk with them or challenge them they will continue. If they continue to disrupt the lobby because you are busy arguing with them, then you are disrupting the tourney and spoiling peoples fun. NO booting members from the tables. Although members have the right to not allow someone to watch they should ask them to leave politely, if they refuse ask the TD for assistance. The spamming or harassing of other Myleagues is strictly forbidden by Case and Phoenix. Phoenix is a new league and yes there is history as to why this league was started, we have all decided to make a fresh start and leave the negative things from the past behind us. As always you are more than welcome to play in ANY league you like and you will never be treated any differently here at Phoenix no matter what. All we ask is that the past is left as the past, we have all moved on to brighter and better things and look forward to having you with us on this journey. Gossip and rumours are just that. Don’t let them affect you. If you are concerned about something that was said to you talk to an admin or e-mail them. If you repeat what was said without getting clarification, then you are just as guilty of being a gossip and rumour monger. So forget all that and remember why you are here. Disciplinary Actions: We run a friendly league where all are welcome to join, however as with most things in life these days there are people out there, for whatever reason, who like to cause trouble whenever possible, for that reason we have a disciplinary procedure. Admins deal with any incidents that arise and the penalties for breaching the leagues code of conduct are as follows: First - Warning or boxed 1 to 7 days Second - boxed 7 to 30 days Third - removed from the league This is automatic, no recourse or exception These are just guidelines and depending on the severity of the offense the admin team may act accordingly. If you are not happy with the decision or wish to discuss it, we ask that you respect the other members right to play in peace, so discuss it on messenger or in e-mail. You may be surprised at the results and decisions that 2 calm minds can come to. However, should you choose to take to the lobby causing drama or disrupting games it will result in a permanent ban, with no recourse. This policy applies to all members. The staff of Phoenix_crib are held to a much higher standard as they set the example for how others behave. No true democracy functions without a rule of law and respect. As with anything in life we will make mistakes, we only ask that if we do please give us the opportunity to resolve them and also remember we are all only human after all. This league has been created for each and every one of you and everyone who is a member at Phoenix has a say in how things are done here. Staff are all volunteers and are here to help guide you through the tourney process and any other problems you may have. We are ALWAYS open to suggestions and ideas on how to make Phoenix a better place so feel free to contact us if you have any.
