WELCOME LETTER!!!

Congratulations (NEW TDS NAME) on being accepted as TD.

Your training is divided into 4 sections which you can follow in your training file in the TD Training Group.

Section 1 - Preparing to be a TD. In this section any HTD or Admin will talk you through all the basics of being a TD, and help make sure you have all the tools you need to run tourneys. When this is completed your primary trainer will verify it has been completed and advance you to the next section.

Section 2 - Running single elimination tourneys. In this section you may choose to train with your primary trainer, or you may select any of the HTDs or Admins to assist you. When you have finished this section, your primary trainer will advance you and then any HTD or Admin will prepare you for the next section

Section 3 - Running swiss tourneys. In this section you may choose to train with your primary trainer, or you may select any HTD or admin to assist you. When you have finished this section, your primary trainer will advance you and then any HTD or Admin will prepare you for the next section

Section 4 - Running Double elim tourneys. Like single elims and swiss you may choose any HTD or Admin to assist you. When you have completed this section, you will be released by your primary trainer and may run tourneys without supervision.

You can get more details for each section in your personal training file. You will find this file in the files section of the TD training group. You should have received an invitation to join this group. (if you have not, let your primary trainer know)

Proceed with the training at your pace, relax and enjoy the experience. We want this to be a positive experience for you so don't feel pressured to rush through your training. The minimum requirement for TDs is 1 tourney every 21 days.

You will find lots of helpful information on running tourneys on our own league help page. http://phoenixcrib.com/staff/tdhelp.html

On our TD HELP PAGE, you will find
  • Training lessons which you can do on your own. (Under contruction)
  • Rules and spams to use on tourney pages and in the lobby
  • Help links for other TD training sites
  • Free HTML lessons, which you don't need to know, but if you ever want to learn how to create web pages they are free.
  • Links to background and music site to help decorate your tourney pages. (Under contruction)

In the Training lessons on that page, you will see one for "SHORTKEYS" . This is a program you need to download to spam rules and pairings in the lobby. You can click on the training lesson to get the link to download the program.

The most important thing to remember is, whether you are in training or not, the HTDs and Admins are here to help you. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask, so feel free to come to us for anything.

We look forward to playing in your tourneys
